Megan Pokrant is a graduate of the Brandon University concurrent BMus/BEd (A.D.) program where she studied instrumental music education and majored on trumpet. She continued her education and completed her Masters in Jazz Performance on the trumpet, graduating in May of 2017. Megan is originally from a small town in rural Manitoba called Rosenfeld. She made the move to Brandon after graduating in 2010 from W.C. Miller Collegiate in Altona. Brandon University offered a welcoming, supportive community that would foster her learning and challenge her musicianship. During her years at BU, Megan was an active clinician in Manitoba and participated in ensembles such as Symphonic Band, Big Band, Small Group, Brass Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble. Megan loves to make music and loves teaching. She plans on continuing to learn how to be a great educator and musician for the rest of her life.
